Who Am I?

“The programmer, like the poet, works only slightly removed from pure thought-stuff. He builds his castles in the air, from air, creating by exertion of the imagination.”

– Fred Brooks, The Mythical Man-Month: Essays on Software Engineering

My Experiences

Below you can find the list of my work experiences

Software Developer at Italik
JUNE 2014 – PRESENT

A well-varied and demanding role requiring and resulting in experience in many areas. Working directly with clients to provide the solution they require is the main focus, and has resulted in mobile apps on iOS, Android, and Windows, background services, web applications and APIs within a range of languages and technologies, including ASP.NET MVC and WebAPI, WebForms, Xamarin, Java, Objective-C, PHP, AngularJS and React.

Additionally, I have taken position of team lead and development lead in a number of projects, delivering high quality solutions and support, while driving the move to an automated build, test and deployment process and adoption of agile practices for development.

Software Developer at Seed Software
SEPTEMBER 2013 – JUNE 2014

Cross Platform, Mobile Client and Server application built in C# ASP.NET MVC, and Xamarin for iOS on the iPad for the local schools to use for delivering their curriculum.  With a strict deadline and importance, this project is aimed for use in September 2014. It makes heavy use of Entity Framework and SQL Server 2008, along with Mono and SQLite. Seed operates heavily using agile methodologies, and all teams are expected to use SCRUM during the duration of the project, while developing in a loosely coupled object oriented manner.

Committee Member at Tokonatsu
AUGUST 2013 – AUGUST 2016

Promoted from my previous voluntary role for excellent management, drive, and public communications, the role now additionally covers handling all customer payments, medical and personal information, and dispute resolution, along with almost all public contact, especially regarding registrations and problems.

As a member of the committee, I have a strong influence over the event, and direction taken.

Volunteer at Tokonatsu
JULY 2009 – AUGUST 2013

A hands-on and versatile role, dealing with all aspects of the event; largely helping and leading the registrations team onsite, I was often the first point of contact for customers of the event. Attention to detail, organisation, strong communications and adaptability were crucial to swiftly dealing with customers, and having them pitched at over 50 customers per hour.
